She’d been a busy child actress, but Lindsay Lohan emerged as a teen dream with her starring role in Freaky Friday. The surprise hit suddenly made Lindsay one of America’s hottest young actresses - and that term couldn’t be said more literally. Lohan was hosting the 2004 MTV Movie Awards when she won as Best Breakthrough Female. Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen was a critical and box-office disappointment, but Mean Girls was an acclaimed hit. Still, her catfights in that film can’t match the public carping between Lindsay and fellow star Hilary Duff. The drama also continued as Lindsay took on Hilary in the pop charts with her own proper debut as a recording artist. Lindsay’s legal, too, and churning out enough films to keep our own pants percolating.
