Connie Nielsen is one Great Dane (no, not a dog, she’s Danish born and bred), who got her cinematic start in Italy before heading to the U.S. for the big-budget bonanzas that made her famous. That fame first fanned the flames of male libidos in the Keanu Reeves thriller The Devil’s Advocate , playing the K-dude’s Satan-spawned sister who was hell-bent on incest. She appeard very nude in the movie’s climactic final scene, with a long, decently lit full-frontal shot. That arousing introduction led to a role in the blockbuster Gladiator , as the wise-beyond-her-years sister of Commodus. That must have been a pleasant change for her, because in Gladiator, it’s her brother, not her, who is bent on incest, which seems to be a running theme for her.
