Sometimes people feel guilty for no good reason, but if a guy experiences a twinge of shame while contemplating the early work of child model turned grown-up television star Brooke Shields, then he probably really does have something to repent. As a child prostitute putting her cherry up for auction in Pretty Baby (1978), thirteen-year-old Brooke threw the Zeitgeist into a conflicted tizzy. On the one hand, the kid was just so damn otherworldly, innocent, willing, and beautiful. On the other hand, she was a kid.
